November 2018
We held a collective of events in the month of November to celebrate Hip Hop History Month 2018. We screened films in all of the weeks of November including: Beat Street, Style Wars, Wild Style and Breakin’. OK Comics hosted another ‘Straight Outta Comics’ event and Tea Breaks & Beats was born at Mrs Atha’s café, hosted by Tony Green and featuring guest appearances from DJ Agent M, Jack Dans and Oddball. The annual Community Day celebration at Leeds City Museum featured regulars BoomChikkaBoom, Breakin’ Through Leeds and workshops from DJ School, DJ Agent M and Iqwon & DMW. We also had a special guest appearance from Rasta Claus.
HIP HOP APPRECIATION WEEK 2018

In this week we celebrated the elements of Hip Hop culture through four events. The week was introduced with a Hip Hop History Talk at Leeds City Museum with King Monk , DJ’s Weston and Agent M. On the Friday we held “Straight Outta a Comic Book” at OK Comics, Leeds. This event was followed on the Friday with Hip Hop 360 at The Faversham, held by Unstable Events. The Saturday brought brilliant weather as well as a Park Jam to finish off a fantastic week of celebration.
